This is a departure from Mr Donovan's usual genré of police procedural but he has very successfully made the jump to the action/adventure genré. This adventure grabs you from the first page and never lets up until the very end. It has everything a reader looks for in a great book: characters you can really care about and you do, action, adventure, bad guys, shoot-em ups, romance, best friends, conspiracy, treachery, EVERYTHING! The action is non-stop and believable (not once did I roll my eyes), the dialogue is smooth and the plotting is tight and consistent. I couldn't ask for a better way to escape into a world other than the one in which I live. Don't miss this one: it is a sure-fire winner!Product details

Like the other books Kerry Donovan has written, Ryan Kaine, On The Run, gives you taut, tense plotting, and a story that keeps you engrossed throughout. Unlike his DCI Jones casebook series, this novel is a flat out thriller, rife with action and adventure from the very beginning, which enables Ryan Kaine On The Run, to successfully step up as a world class thriller! Kudos, Mr. Donovan.
This book wasn't really my usual genre, but it grabbed my attention from the first, and kept it through the end. I was rooting for the very likable character of Ryan Kaine throughout. The graphic fighting/killing scenes were a bit too much for me. A few Scooby-doo type confessions and explanations, plus an odd sharp turn at the very end, are what kept me from giving this book 5 stars.
Absolutely loved this story. This is my first adventure by this author and I am thrilled to find him. I’m now a fan of Ryan Kaine. I love stories where good actually triumphs over evil, as difficult as it might be. Loved how the characters complement each other and carry the story from start to end. I can’t wait until Book 2 in this series
If action adventure is your thing then Ryan Kaineon the run is a must read.I am reluctant to write reviews because everyone has different standards ,but ,I found this book so exceptional I was compelled to encourage others to read it.Several times while reading this book I said to myself" boy this is good! " I thoroughly enjoyed this story from start to finish. Only downside was I neglected things to stay in this book to see what happened next. Highly recommended!
Having read ON LUCKY SHORES awhile back. I quickly delved into Kerry J Donovan''s newest book RYAN KAINE ON THE Run. Mr. Donova does not disappoint. Not wanting to say anything that woild spoil any of the twists and turns, let me just say READ IT. You will feel like you actually know Ryan Kaine and his sidekick Lara. You will find yourself cheering them on throughout the story. I finished this story in less than a day. I just could not put it down. Again, READ IT!!
Weapons specialist and expert marksman Ryan Kaine is a man with a target on his back. If his enemies catch up with him, he’s a dead man. If they don’t, he’ll rot in prison for the rest of his life, convicted of a crime he technically didn’t commit.
One of his enemies is a man who’ll sell out anyone for a price. “He ran the calculations. Eighty-three victims—eighty-four if you included Ryan—worked out at a little under twenty-four grand a piece. Didn’t sound too bad if you said it quickly. What value did you put on a life? Bugger all if you didn’t know them. A conscience had no value. A conscience never paid the bills.”
The thriller is well-researched and reflective of the author’s expert weapons and technological knowledge. There's also a delicious surprise for Kerry Donovan fans. No spoilers, so you’ll have to find out for yourself.
I am a fan of this author and he does not disappoint with his adventure into this suspenseful thriller. Ryan Kaine is a hard as nails ex Royal Marine who is setup to take the fall for shooting down a commercial airline killing 83+ people. When Ryan finds out what happened, he is physically ill on the side of the road.
I was prepared to dislike Ryan after reading the opening scene but the author's development of this character soon had me cheering him on. He is truly an honorable man. The storyline is astonishing and shows how greed can ruin other peoples lives.
I can't wait for the next book about this new hero.
